Terms of Service

There are two kinds of user, and the terms differ for each:

• Institutes — the coaching institutes, schools and tutors who subscribe to GoKlass and run classes on it. The institute contracts with us directly.
• Students, parents and staff — people who use the platform through an institute. Your account is created and controlled by that institute. Your enrolment, fees, refunds, course content and academic decisions are matters between you and your institute, not GoKlass.

You must give accurate information and keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. Accounts are personal and must not be shared. The platform limits each account to a small number of registered devices; exceeding that limit requires an administrator to release a device.

Institutes are responsible for the accounts they create, for assigning roles correctly, and for removing access when a person leaves.

You must not:

• record, download, re-upload, resell or otherwise redistribute course videos, notes, question banks or any other content on the platform;
• circumvent, disable or attempt to reverse-engineer the encryption, watermarking, device limits or any other protection measures;
• share your account, sell access to it, or impersonate another user;
• upload malware, or content that is unlawful, infringing, obscene or harassing;
• probe, scan or overload the service, or attempt to access data belonging to another institute or user;
• use automated tools to scrape content or generate artificial traffic.

We may suspend an account that we reasonably believe is breaching these rules, and will inform the institute.

Institutes own the course material, branding and student records they put into GoKlass. They grant us only the licence needed to host, encrypt, process and deliver that content to their own users, and to make backups.

GoKlass owns the platform itself — the software, its interfaces, the encrypted video format, and our name and logo. Nothing in these terms transfers that ownership. Institutes on a white-label plan may use their own branding within the apps we provide, but do not acquire rights in the underlying software.

Institutes are responsible for having the rights to the content they upload. If you believe content on the platform infringes your copyright, write to us at the address below and we will act on it with the relevant institute.

Institute subscription charges, the billing cycle and any free trial are set out in the plan the institute selects. Charges are stated in Indian Rupees and are exclusive of GST unless stated otherwise. Subscriptions renew for the same term unless cancelled before the renewal date. We may change prices for a future term with at least 30 days' notice.

Student fee payments made through GoKlass are collected on behalf of the institute and are processed by Razorpay. GoKlass is not a party to that transaction. Refunds of student fees are decided and issued by the institute under its own refund policy — please contact your institute for these.

If a subscription payment fails or remains unpaid, we may suspend access after giving notice. Data is retained for 90 days after termination so the institute can export it.

We work to keep the platform available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may take the service down for planned maintenance, and will give advance notice where practical. Support is available at the contact channels below during the hours listed. Any specific uptime or response commitments apply only if they are written into an institute's plan or signed agreement.

Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. For student, parent and staff records, the institute is the data controller and GoKlass acts as its processor.

An institute may cancel its subscription at any time, effective at the end of the current billing term. We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are materially breached, if payment is overdue, or if continued operation would be unlawful. On termination, the right to use the platform ends immediately, and the data retention period in the Privacy Policy applies.

The platform is provided on an “as is” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we do not give implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. We are not responsible for the accuracy, quality or legality of content that institutes upload, nor for the educational outcomes any student achieves.

To the extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue or goodwill. Our total liability to an institute for any claim arising out of these terms is limited to the subscription fees that institute paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud.

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the current version. If a change materially affects your rights, we will notify institute administrators by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the platform after that date means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, subject to any different venue agreed in a signed institute agreement.
